A New Beginning

    I always feel such hope and expectation--even a little excitement--at the beginning of a new year.  I'm still not sure why I feel this way, but again this year as I have put all the Christmas decorations back in storage and have returned the house to order I am hopeful and eager to begin this new year.
     It was good that the meeting of The Gathering coincided with the first day of the year.  We are off to a good start and it seems like a new beginning to us.  I finally discovered how to hook my computer to the screen in our family room so we were able to project the service from Bethel Church in Redding, CA into the room and worship along with the people there.  After a time of listening prayer and intercession we were encouraged by a word from Bethel's pastor, Bill Johnson, followed by discussion and fellowship.  It was a very good format for our group so we are planning to continue on Sunday nights at 6:00.
    We will also be meeting on Wednesday nights at 6:00 to study Colossians with a verse by verse video commentary of the book by Bob Utley.  We are excited about this new beginning for our group.
