Bluebirds

     I love bluebirds!  So imagine my delight when this little guy decided to visit.  He seems to enjoy sitting on the branches of the Weeping Japanese Maple outside our kitchen window.  Every few minutes he flies up to the window as if he's trying to get in.

     I haven't seen a mate yet, but I'm hoping he has one.  A few years ago a couple nested in the bluebird house we erected near the deck.  It was so interesting watching them build the nest and then bring food to the babies.  But every year since then a wren has taken over the box before the bluebirds arrive.  I am so glad not to have seen the wren yet and have hopes for another opportunity to watch the nesting bluebirds.
