A Walk In The Woods

      We have had unusually warm weather for February!  I went for a walk in the woods this morning in what felt like a spring day.   It is to be 70 degrees again today.  As you can see my daffodils are almost ready to open.

        I was surprised to see this site in the woods everywhere I looked!  
     Obviously there will be enough spiders this year!  I had never before noticed the webs being so visible so I took a closer look.   I hope you can you see in the photo--the reason they stand out so much is that the fibers are coated with droplets of water.

      As I continued walking I came across this dead tree which the woodpeckers had been working on.  They have certainly been busy!
     It was a perfectly still morning so a wonderful time to go walking.  I even startled a few deer from their resting places.  Unfortunately,  I didn't get a photo.  Their white tails were a beautiful site as they leapt over fallen trees!
